Description

Euromex microscopes for materials science applications have specific objectives and other equipment such as incident illuminators, polarizing systems and compensation filters. This allows precise observation of materials such as metals, plastics, minerals, asbestos, glass, wood and chemicals. Euromex offers a wide range of metallographic microscopes, inverted stage metallographic microscopes, petrographic microscopes with rotating stages and special strain-free objectives for polarized light and microscopes for asbestos identification.

iScope for Materials Science (Petrographic)

iScope microscopes for materials science are supplied with specific accessories that turn the iScope into a high-quality microscope suitable for a variety of applications. There are three types of microscopes for materials science; metallographic microscopes, petrographic microscopes and microscopes for the study of asbestos.

EYE CLOSURES
The polarizing models are supplied with a pair of EWF 10x/22 mm or EWF 10x/20 mm eyepieces (Ø 30 mm tube), a crosshair eyepiece and a crosshair micrometer eyepiece. The specific models for asbestos identification have a HWF 12.5x/15 mm eyepiece (Ø 30 mm tube) and a HWF 12.5x/15 mm eyepiece with Walton-Beckett scale.

HEAD
Siedentopf design binocular and trinocular head with 30° inclined eyepiece tubes. Adjustable interpupillary distance between 48 and 76 mm. +5 diopter correction on both eyepiece tubes. Ergonomic butterfly-type head rotation system allows two observation positions: high (431 mm) and low (397 mm). The trinocular head has a Ø 23.2 mm documentation port.

REVOLVER LENS HOLDER
Quadruple objective-holder revolver in reverse position and mounted on high-precision ball bearings

Optional Abbe type condenser with height-adjustable AN 0.90/1.25 folding lens and iris diaphragm

APPROACH
Macro and micrometric focusing with precision of 1 μm, 200 graduations per micrometer turn (0.2 mm). Total travel of approximately 24 mm. With safety system to limit the stage height and protect the sample and high magnification objectives. With focus tension adjustment

TRANSMITTED LIGHTING

  • Köhler designer lighting with dimmable NeoLED™ 3 W and internal 100-240 V power supply
  • The larger aperture of NeoLED™ enables the iScope microscope optical systems to image at higher resolutions, very close to the theoretical diffraction limit of optics. Other advantages of NeoLED™ technology include low power consumption, no heat build-up, and longer lifetime.
  • The Köhler diaphragm provides homogeneous illumination and high contrast
  • Polarizing models with transmitted illumination only are supplied with: a 360° rotating polarizing filter, a 360° rotating analyzer with 180 increments and Vernier scale for reading to 0.2 degrees, a Bertrand lens (integrated), a 1 λ first order red compensating plate and a 1/4 λ retarding compensating plate, a quartz plate and 45 mm green and blue filters for the illumination source.

INCIDENT LIGHTING
(PLPOLRi models only)

  • Consisting of a 50 W 12 V halogen episcopic illumination and an external 100-240 V power supply.
  • Models supplied with 360° rotating polarizing filter, a 360° rotating analyzer with 180 increments and Vernier scale for reading to 0.2 degrees, a Bertrand lens (integrated), a 1 λ first order red compensating plate and a 1/4 λ retarding compensating plate, a quartz plate, green/blue and white/neutral density filter plates and 45 mm green and blue filters for illumination source.

ICARE SENSOR
This sensor helps prevent unnecessary energy loss. The microscope illumination switches off automatically shortly after the user leaves the microscope.

CABLE STORAGE SYSTEM - CSS
iScope microscopes allow the user to store the power cord on the back of the stand. A handle is also located on the back of the stand for convenient transport of the microscope.

CONFIGURATIONS
The iScope microscope is available in a wide range of configurations and can also be upgraded with a variety of optional accessories.

• Bright field models • Phase contrast models • Petrographic and asbestos analysis models • Dark field models • Epi-fluorescence models • Metallographic models

PACKAGING
Supplied with power cable, protective cover, spare fuse and user manual. Polystyrene case.
