In stereomicroscopy, it is very important to know how to determine the appropriate type of illumination depending on the transparency of the sample to be observed. If the sample is non-transparent (opaque), we will choose incident illumination. This type of illumination can be coaxial or at a certain angle. If the object is transparent, we will choose diascopic or transmitted illumination. Sometimes both incident and transmitted illumination can be used at the same time. The shape of the object, its composition and its surface are also important parameters for the good choice of the illumination system in order to be able to view all the details of the sample to be observed. Euromex offers a wide range of cold light sources with flexible or self-supporting light conductors, different halogen or LED illumination systems as well as fluorescent illumination. These robust Euromex light sources can receive flexible or self-supporting light conductors, focusing lenses and coloured or polarising filters. The light conductors can have one, two or three arms or a ring type. There are adapters to fix the conductors on the different heads of stereomicroscopes.
