Description

The AmScope SM-1 is a trinocular stereo zoom microscope supplied with a column stand and extra-large base. Its super-widefield optics provide crisp, high-resolution stereoscopic images with good depth of field across a broad field of view. The native working distance is 100 mm (4 in). The eyetubes are inclined at 45° for comfortable viewing, and rubber eyecups add comfort.

The Greenough stereo optical system uses a 0.7x–4.5x continuous zoom objective. With the included 10x widefield eyepieces, the magnification range is 7x–45x. High-eyepoint optics accommodate eyeglasses. Both eyepieces have adjustable diopters, and the interpupillary distance can be adjusted.

A switched trinocular photo port lets you attach an imaging device without removing an eyepiece. It can connect to a video-capable camera for live viewing on a monitor or TV. Compatible cameras can also support computer image capture and measurement, time-lapse capture, and Wi-Fi or LAN networking.

Applications include gemology, geology, forestry, archaeology, agriculture, biology, education and inspection of surface details in materials such as wood, metal, solder joints, semiconductors and gemstones. It can be used to examine insects, plants, rocks, stamps, coins, jewellery, microelectronic components, circuit boards and other three-dimensional objects. It is suited to research laboratories, engravers, watchmakers, jewellers, die makers, stamp collectors and electronics or semiconductor work.
